I don’t think that’s Odin holding the girl on Sleipnir.
That’s us as WoD.
Some symbolism here.
Darkness is holding/embracing Light. The Light is weak and frail from it’s (her) fight and it’s up to the Darkness to protect it and carry on fighting. Sword drawn, ready for an unending battle.
Which is weird, because all throughout RPG history, in a game where you have elemental weaknesses, light and dark are almost always opposed to each other.
It’s very interesting to see them working together and helping one another.
We also learned from previous patches and cut-scenes that the Warrior of Light is not all they’re made out to be.
We may think what we’re doing is is good–banishing darkness–but when in reality, we’re probably making things worse. A lot worse.
We’re throwing off equilibrium.
If I remember my lore correctly, the same thing Arbert was trying to stop us from doing.
Yin and Yang symbolism, I am so in the hypes because is the kind of context I LOVE.
You know I had to do it to– no, sorry. I’m just still freaking out here.
I mean, what if Yoshi turns around at Paris in February and goes “hey, we’re redesigning the shitty old Darkside glow to be this flaming purple effect?” I will lose my shit even more than I am right now.
((Thanks to @kukurubean for making these gifs so I could illustrate my point.))
