Well… if the 3 people don’t stack and then you don’t kill the blizzard IIO, those tethered (like myself) become snowmen… this made me giggle so much… Was with @zahkis-ffxiv at the time.
Ilwe’ran’s tail was swishing back and forth as Altëa was applying the paint on his skin, a task she was taking care off since Carina and him came back to the Den. Carina was sitting aside, watching attentively each of Altëa’s gestures. She offered to take care of the paint in the future, when she would know everything about their meaning and which would be appropriate for each occasion. She was aware of her mate’s discomfort regarding those and hoped that being the one in charge of this duty would soothe his feelings over time.
“And with this you’re ready to go. Wait a little for the paint to dry though,”commented Altëa, giving the same recommendations every single day. “I don’t intend to go anywhere for now, I have work to do here,”answered the male, sounding as neutral as possible.
She seemed to hesitate as his annoyance was clearly visible but she was at loss with what she could do, so she decided to bow her head to him, resting her hand on her heart as she was supposed to do when facing the Harya. She didn’t noticed his ear twitching and picked her material quickly before leaving the room.
There was a moment of silence during which he lifted his arm, gazing upon what was making him uncomfortable. It was the moment Carina chose to stand up and to cross the distance between them, resting her hand on his side while watching over his shoulder.
“What is bothering you so much,” she whispered with that soft tone she was using only for him. He lifted his head, distracted from his inspection by her touch as much as her words. “I’m unsure if it’s what I want. It’s not like I have the choice, but I don’t manage to get used to this decorum.. Even less to lose my name.”
She carefully embraced him, avoiding to rest on his painted skin, “they love you, it’s how they show their respect to you.” He grimaced, “Mother managed to not have to deal with that paint duty, at least not that way.. I don’t want to spend each day wearing those, I want to be me. I want to be liked for myself and not because of my title or what they feel worthy of respect.” She nodded and walked around him to look at him in the eyes. “Ara.. You did much for them, their respect is the result. It will take some time before they know more about you, but if all this decorum make you uncomfortable, maybe we could think of a way to make it less ?” He rested his head on her shoulder with a sigh as she reached up to stroke his hair and ears, “It will take time, but it will change. I’m sure about it.”
He kept silent not wishing to discuss some more about the topic and instead nuzzled her neck, letting her release him slowly from his stress.
