[Infomercial voice] Are you tired of trying to edit text in a tiny one-line box? Fed up with having to figure out where to split your glorious paragraph posts? Have you exposed at least moderately embarrassing RP to the wrong channel by accident?
I have been watching and occasionally helping to build this little tool over the last week or so. FFXIV’s tiny chat box sucks to write long posts in and it’s awful to edit, too. Google Docs/Word/other text editors are handy, but they also won’t track where you need to split your posts up due to character limit.
This handy tool will tell you your character count/how many posts it needs to be split into, automatically append the designated channel to new posts, and will also automatically split your posts for you when it hits the cap.
It has a few other useful resources, like a dictionary/thesaurus search and a button to split up copypasted text into posts. It will likely see continued tweaking, but if you like what you see, please consider buying the creator a coffee.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed more and more on Balmung the nature of people to pull hunts and other things such as Ixion early and kill them before people have a chance to get there, giving the excuses of “git gud”, “don’t take 10 minutes to teleport in”, “get an SSD” or even “join a LS”, then laughing when some people have threatened to report them. The thing is, it -is- technically a form of harrassment to pull early and then insult people and you -can- technically be reported for it. I’m not the person to report people for it, but don’t be surprised if you do end up getting reported as it is depriving the enjoyment of the game from others. One of the biggest offenders I’ve seen on Balmung is Soul Jah, someone who seemingly plays pretty much only to hunt and often has the most acerbic of retorts to people.
Long story short, don’t be a dick, wait for people to arrive, not everyone has the perfect gaming rig and internet.
