I understand a lot of healer’s frustration with tanks.
A number of them act in such a way that it comes off as if the healer is nonessential, rather than a necessary component of the group when it comes to running content.
They run ahead of the group without waiting for buffs or even to see if they are ready; as if they are not needed, and the buffs not the first thing that should happen before anyone goes anywhere.
They pull very large groups of monsters as if every DPS skill is a powerful aoe(or an aoe at all).
They refuse to pop cooldowns as if healer abilities do not have cast times, and as if not knowing that if a healer had to pop an emergency insta-cast on them for trash mobs, then there is still a chance they are going to die because the speed at which they take damage still outpaces the speed of the healer’s cast time + the damage DPS puts out.
People, in general, are not really acting as if they are part of a team when it comes to content, and that the other people in these dungeons are just as essential to completing it as they are.
Had a tank do raid-style pulls in Sastasha (normal mode. Ya know. The level 15 baby one?). I’m not making this up. Pulled the first set of mobs (bats) all the way to the clam room. I was in Novice Hall healing gear. This tank lucked out that even though I was levelling WHM, I was not new to healing (as I had levelled scholar previously beige the new job system) and SOMEHOW kept them and the entire group up during this (did i mention there were no real aoe casters in this group to my knowledge?). The point is, you don’t PULL like that in a freaking levelling dungeon. If I had been a new healer, there likely would have been a lot of wipes. And then probably blamed for not doing my job. It’s VERY easy for me to seethe at tanks these days.
All I will add to this, as a WHM main, don’t damn pull without asking your healer first. If you ask and I say no because I am not comfortable doing it for whatever reasong (either my gear, how I am feeling or otherwise), then respect that. Also, if you do it and we wipe, don’t try and do the same damn pull AGAIN.
